The government in Lagos State came out to announce the official ban of Tricycles and Motor Cycles in some selected areas of the state. This decision was based on the havoc frequently created my riders of these vehicles. It has been stated that Criminal acts are being carried out easily with the use of motor cycles and Tricycles.
Statistics has shown that from the year 2016 to 2019, there has been over 10,000 accidents recorded thereby resulting to over 600 deaths.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy Mr Gbenga Omotoso who signed the press statement made it known that the ban wont take effect until the first day of February 2020.
